Robinson’s Building and Roofing was founded by my father in 1980 and quickly became established as a with high quality and trustworthy builder and roofer in Bath.
Having trained along my father as a builder and roofer, I’m now proud to be at the healm, upholding the Robinson’s family name and building on the wealth of knowledge and experience that has led to Robinson’s being recommended as a Trading Standards Approved building and roofing company by BANES.

As both a building and roofing company, we can deal with almost any building or roofing project, reducing the need for you to source additional trades. Everything from the ground to roof level can be sorted, including trade services such as plumbing, electrics and carpentry. This not only makes life easy, but also ensures you receive a consistent standard of high quality workmanship, all delivery in timely and trustworthy manner.
As part of being Trading Standards approved by BANES, we always strive to set the standard in providing an honest, no obligation approach to discussing the works you require. When supplying you with a detailed written estimate, we ensure we provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and will clearly talk through our approach to the works proposed and reasoning. Once we receive the go ahead, we will organise everything, from erecting the scaolding, ordering materials and setting a detailed timeplan to smoothly complete your building and/or roofing project. Once finished, we take the time to sweep and clean down all areas, responsibly removing all waste to be recycled in line with our environmental credentials.
Understanding that most clients are not comfortable or able to climb ladders, we will supply you with a link to a downloadable folder where photos of your project from start to finish will be supplied so you can see clearly what we have done.
We are fully insured with £5 million public liability insurance and also employer’s liability insurance.
All our employees are also CRB/DBS checked for your safety.
We undertake all works in house unless otherwise previously agreed with you.
Our beautiful city of Bath has a large amount of buildings which are listed and need to be protected.
In some cases, Listed Building Consent will need to be sought before works can be undertaken to make sure that the heritage of the building is maintained should they deemed to be larger than general maintenance works.
Unfortunately, we often come across work which has been undertaken by tradesperson’s who don’t understand the heritage within Bath and even more worryingly, companies based in Bath itself.
Using the choice of materials can be the difference of prolonging a building or hastening its demise with large costly repairs further down the line.
Building regulations would also be applied depending upon the nature of works.
Our long-term view as a company is that the world we live in needs to be looked after and our impact upon it limited.
For the past 15 years we have been committed to making sure that a minimum of 85% of our waste from your projects is recycled rather than being placed into landfill.
We make sure that our waste partners share the same goals as us and share the same commitment with many exceeding this to reach 95% recycling Metals, Woods, Old cement and tiles, plastics.
We are hopeful that in the near future this figure can be reduced further to 100% of waste being recycled.

Roof’s fail for two main reasons.
Weather – Your roof is the highest point of your house and will face the full brunt of wind, rain and frost. All these elements will ultimately cause the material to fail on your roof at potentially different times. Having an experienced roofer inspect this will help with these future problems, nipping them in the bud before they become more expensive long-term to fix.
Poor Workmanship – Poor workmanship can often cause more problems than they try to solve. From installing lead in lengths too long for their code (Thickness of lead) causing the lead to tear sometimes after only being installed a few years ago through to using a poor mix and sand causing the pointing work on your chimney/flashing’s to fail.
Having an expert roofer to undertake the works will give you peace of mind that the repairs will be done correctly first time and take away the dread of having to erect scaffolding again to re-do work.
BWC is a UK trading Standards approved contractor scheme called Buy With Confidence. We are proud to be a the longest serving building and Roofing company in BANES, having been members since 2009.
Due to the height of the majority of roofs we normally need to have access scaffolding erected before we are able to undertake any work.
This won’t stop us from initially inspecting the work needed and providing you with a free estimate, included within will be the cost of scaffolding.
Our estimates will also include a standard 4 weeks hire, thereafter a weekly hire charge of 5% would apply.

Great work from Adrian – the flaunching on our two chimney stacks had crumbled badly to the point that pedestrians below could be at risk of falling debris. Adrian spotted this when doing roof work for our neighbour and let us know out of courtesy. Useful before and after pictures showed a very professional job. Thanks!
